COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT, JOB RETENTION AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
Sustainability is part of Kromer Print AG’s strategy. It starts with the company’s strategic focus on customer needs, continues with a host of certified internal and external processes and culminates in the offsetting of carbon consumption by supporting the Oberallmig Climate Protection Project, a Swiss project aimed at optimising forest management. Conserving resources, observing mutual respect, securing jobs and apprenticeships, and protecting customer needs and sensitive data: covering all aspects of sustainability is a core discipline of the Lenzburg-based company. Business efficiency Kromer Print AG is the biggest training organisation in the graphic design industry in the Swiss canton of Aargau and currently employs around 110 staff. The company is managed by fourth-generation CEO Andy Amrein. In 2012, Kromer Print AG received the 15th GC Management Award for its successful and efficient corporate strategy after prevailing against international industry competitors from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The award is presented by GC Graphic Consult GmbH for outstanding entrepreneurial achievements. Logistics expertise The registered trademark Printlogistik® makes the “Printed in Switzerland” concept even more effective and efficient. Kromer Print AG’s integrated logistics solution closes the gap between print production, storage and distribution. Thanks to a Web shop, customers can find out the quantity of printed business material stock managed by Kromer Print AG and order the required amount. It concerns both ecological and economic aspects.” Certified security Like sustainability, data security has also been a topic of lively debate among the general public for quite some time now. Following a comprehensive assessment, Kromer Print AG gained ISO 27001 certification for its customers in November 2015 and is thus certified to protect sensitive data. The international standard ISO/IEC 27001 defines the requirements for implementing, operating and continually improving an information security management system. Environmental economy Information on Kromer Print AG’s total energy and material consumption is constantly collected and documented. By regularly optimising employee travel, company logistics and production machine capacities, completely recycling production materials and using recycled papers for print products, the company is able to optimally conserve all resources. Local carbon offsetting As a Swiss industrial company, Kromer Print AG offsets its domestic carbon consumption by supporting the Oberallmig Climate Protection Project, a project by Switzerland’s biggest forest owner aimed at optimising ecological forest management. Environmentally friendly new building In early summer 2017, the Kromer Group, including Kromer Print AG, moved into an additional, newly built production facility in the GEXI industrial park in Lenzburg. The Kromer building was designed and constructed according to the latest advances in production technology and sustainability, and environmental specifications. This has led to an increase in productivity, while construction measures and a heat-pump-based heating and air-conditioning system have improved energy efficiency. Holistic sustainability From a business perspective, sustainability should be viewed in a holistic sense. The basic philosophy of Kromer Print AG is deeply rooted and engrained within the company. Processes are optimised not only with a view to profitability, but always with occupational safety in mind. Good working practices and healthy working conditions are just as important as business efficiency.
